The PDF family is growing!
Good morning!
The current situation is special, it is complicated to express oneself about life in confinement because for some it is about staying at home and managing isolation and for others having to go out to work and expose themselves. For my part, I am lucky to be able to continue working from home, and if having my 2 children with me is sometimes a bit "sport" to progress as I would like, it is also the possibility of seeing each other more and fully supporting them with homework, doing long reading/board game/cooking sessions... okay, this story is not going to be easy ;) You may have also noticed that I have closed all shipping options from the store, because the delivery is no longer provided by the carriers. So it is around the PDF patterns that I will offer you content and articles here, because I want to use all this time to do what I love and which I hope will bring you a little breath of sewing from a distance: to offer you tutorials , "inspiration" articles and everything that I could produce in somewhat "fun" content (I will have to start making videos... needless to say, I have a lot on my plate!).The Maison Fauve PDF pattern range has been completed with 6 new models:
While most of these patterns have a tutorial (to be found HERE in the Tutorial section), the closed back dress version of the Sierra pattern did not have one...problem solved ! The beautiful Sierra is a pattern that you really like, and the envelope pattern is no longer available because it is still waiting to be restocked (which will arrive I hope at the same time as the new collection probably mid-April). I know that some of you swear by the PDF format and that you were waiting for this format for the Sierra pattern. For my part, I am always a little reluctant to offer my patterns in this format, and this for various reasons:- the apprehension of piracy and "mass" sharing of my models. This is a problem that many other designers have been able to mention, and if it is a reality I nevertheless find it a shame to penalize all seamstresses for a few disrespectful people. And I want to believe that you who read me, and who follow my adventures as an entrepreneur know the value of my work and how detrimental these behaviors are for me.
- the work around the pocket pattern: the Sew me Arty collection , and the upcoming Sew me the Sun collection include design work on the visual of the pockets that allows them to be fully integrated into a collection universe. This customization, the work that it requires, and especially the "pattern object" take on a completely different dimension for me than the PDF format. I started Dessine moi un patron with the pockets, and I am still continuing with Maison Fauve the work around the paper pattern. It is a strong investment, a real choice for my brand and my company. And it is above all the desire to be able to work with haberdasheries, resellers . I therefore take care as best I can to preserve this part of my work, and to enhance the pocket pattern by researching its presentation.
- After-sales service related to the PDF format: emails that get lost in spam, problems printing the pattern. If the PDF has the super power of being offered to you instantly, day and night, as soon as the desire to sew tickles, you should know that the print quality is decisive to fully enjoy your product. An A4 PDF pattern will be the equivalent of an A0 work plan but fragmented into sheets. If your tracings are offset, this cannot be a file problem, but unfortunately a printing problem. And on very large patterns this problem of offset when printing is even more accentuated. The added patterns are all offered in A4, A0 and US letter formats, with an assembly plan for A4 and US formats :)
