Transform my pattern
The Principle
Do you already own a Maison Fauve pattern, in paper or PDF format?
Good news: many models can be transformed to create a new garment, without starting from scratch. This is what we call pattern hacks.
A hack involves modifying the cut, length, or certain details of an existing pattern (sleeves, neckline, volume, garment type, etc.) to obtain a new version, while relying on a base you already know.
How to transform my pattern?
Depending on the models, the transformation is done in two ways:
Through an explanatory tutorial
-
In the form of a step-by-step article on the website
-
Or in L’Œil Fauve magazine
The tutorial guides you through the adjustments to make: drafting, cutting, assembly, and finishing.
Through a PDF extension / add-on
Some transformations require additional pieces or ready-to-use drafts. In this case, you can download a PDF extension, available:
-
Directly via the product page
-
Or in L’Œil Fauve magazine
👉 Each hack clearly indicates the necessary support material.
What you need
-
The original Maison Fauve pattern (paper or PDF)
-
The associated tutorial and/or the PDF extension if it exists
-
Your usual sewing supplies
⚠️ The original pattern is essential: hacks are not complete patterns.

Who are the hacks for?
-
For those who like to evolve a pattern with the seasons
-
To optimize an already sewn and tested model
-
To gently develop your sewing skills
Each hack specifies the required skill level, if it differs from the original pattern.
One pattern, multiple lives
Transforming a pattern means:
-
Sewing more with less
-
Adapting a model to your style and desires
-
Extending the life of your favorite patterns
✨ A single Maison Fauve pattern can thus become a complete wardrobe.
