Le Rivage, discover the new collection

Dive into the world of Le Rivage with the new Fall Winter 2024/2025 collection of sewing patterns and fabrics!

Hair disheveled by the wind, the taste of salt on your lips, the desire to turn up your collar, it is imbued with these feelings that I invite you to discover our new Le Rivage collection in more detail.

The Inspirations

I wanted a very particular atmosphere, loosely inspired by the films "The Piano" and "Portrait of a Lady on Fire." Not for the clothes themselves, these two films being costume dramas, but for the light, the color, the wild seaside. In these films, the actresses, magnificent, have their faces unvarnished, there is harshness, something a little raw that emerges from the characters.

With Charlène, my photographer, we had two wonderful playgrounds: the beach of Conques, in Agde, with its cliffs and black sand, and a fishing boat in Sète. The Charlène Pélut and Nancy Ponthus team took wonderful photos on this hot late summer day, on this boat which is the ideal setting to represent the universe of the collection. I warmly thank Eugénie and Baptiste Avallone for welcoming our fine team on their tuna boat. We also have a very nice jewelry partner, the brand La Fille des Cordeliers : the maximalist universe of vintage designer jewelry that the brand hunts for has given a real allure, the sophisticated note that glamorizes freshwater sailors ;)

And of course, a big thank you to my models Christine, Vanina and Marie-Sophie who embody the plurality of Fauve Women, and bravo to Nicolas Astruc and Téva Quesada for the hair and beauty treatments which made us all look sublime.

5 New Pouch Patterns

For this winter's collection, I wanted to revisit the sailor's wardrobe, halfway between the harshness and the poetry of sea voyages. Of course, I didn't take it literally, and it's in the details that the sailor's DNA is infused: a short, enveloping coat reminiscent of a pea coat with revised proportions, a blouse in the style of a pea jacket, a blouse with an ultra-feminine draped collar paired with trousers with a shortened leg like those of sailors and a beautiful width, with a superb lapel, and a pussy-bow dress for evenings on deck.
Let me introduce you to each pattern:

  • The Surging Blouse

As delicate as the most elaborate blouses thanks to its small pleats, as original and essential as a sailor shirt with its shoulder inserts, this pretty blouse with a straight cut is about to become a must-have in your wardrobe. The Déferlante blouse can be made in many ways: with or without front buttoning, with or without back buttoning, the front decorated with pleats, without pleats, or with just one embellished side. You will never tire of reinventing your creations with this beautiful pattern.

And the search for details that make the difference does not stop there: the wrist is constructed with an opening on the front of the hand, a coquettishness that adds even more to the elegance of Déferlante .

  • The Reef Pants

The Récif pants take the codes of sailor pants, to adapt them to everyday life: the waist is mid-rise and highlighted with a belt, the hips fit well and it is closed by an invisible zip on the side. The leg widens and stops at the ankle, with a wide turn-up. The Italian pockets are worked with a pocket entry strip for a very neat finish. The back of the pants will fit your curves well thanks to its double waist darts, and flatter the silhouette with its large patch pockets. Comfortable, elegant without being too dressed up, it will be as pretty worn flat as with heeled sandals or ankle boots.

    • The Cliff Coat

Despite the sea spray and strong winds, the Cliff coat will keep you nice and warm. Designed as a revisited pea coat, it has a shawl collar and double buttoning, a large front flap reminiscent of a pea jacket, piped pockets, button tabs at the bottom of the sleeves and its cut is enveloping, worked with pleats and a wide belt at the bottom.

Elegant and comfortable, fully lined, you can play with the different inserts to highlight them or not with piping, choose whether or not to put the flaps, tighten the bottom of the sleeves more or less.

      • The Peninsula Dress

The Péninsule dress is the elegant piece in the Le Rivage collection: its below-the-knee length is very feminine, its pussy-bow collar emphasizes the carriage of the head, its slightly pressed line is constructed by darts that elongate the silhouette, and its cutouts conceal pockets. The refinement of the model extends to its beautiful cuffs, long on the hand and embellished with a cutout. For those who prefer a more open neckline, Péninsule is also available without a collar, with a pretty front cutout closed by ties.

        • The Storm Blouse

Combining clean lines and sophistication, the Tempête blouse is adorned with a very feminine drape. The pattern construction plays on pleats, proportions, and a trompe l'oeil collar effect. The sleeves can be long, and constructed with stitched pleats and a buttoned cuff, like a blouse. You can also sew the Tempête blouse sleeveless, with impeccable armhole finishes, for a very elegant little top to wear on any occasion.

          Le Rivage fabrics

Like the glowing dawn of a cliff-lined beach, the color palette shifts between navy, blue-grey, greige, cumin, and a bright red that sets the whole thing ablaze. These tones are available on different fabrics:

          • A new print has appeared for the Le Rivage collection: the Panache pattern .

The color intensity is just perfect, with nuances between the outlines and backgrounds. Panache is available on a viscose poplin perfect for sewing blouses, dresses, skirts, and shirts. Lightweight (115 g/m2), very soft, and very supple, it is a pleasant fabric to sew and wear in any season.

            • Lily viscose jacquard

Its woven motifs in the form of tone-on-tone satin floral bouquets inject life into the matte background. Lily has a magnificent drape, it will be perfect for sewing blouses, dresses and blouses like the Déferlante blouse whose pleats will add to the texture of the fabric.

              • Viscose twills

Now available in Passion Red , Ink and Cumin . Soft and with a beautiful drape, it is a solid colour and a weight suitable for sewing dresses like Peninsula, blouses and soft trousers (200g/m2).

                • Botanica lace and shell

Our new colors magnify the delicate rosette embroidery of the fabric. As beautiful for sewing a blouse as a dress, the transparent effects of the openwork of our laces are subtle, suggesting more than they reveal. They marry perfectly with the pattern of the Déferlante blouse and the Tempête blouse with its very feminine draped collar. We also offer you to line this fabric, the cotton voile also available in cumin .

                  • Gabardine by Maison Fauve

Very soft, medium weight (250 g/m2) cumin gabardine will allow you to sew many sewing patterns: the Pilar jacket, the Pam coat or beautiful Récif trousers will be superb in this new warm and precious color for winter.

                    • Woolen coats in wool and cashmere

Also discover our selection of wool and cashmere coats . We offer three colors, all from Italian deadstock: ink, heathered charcoal gray, and black. They're very warm and easy to sew. These are the perfect fabrics for sewing the Cliff coat, as well as the Ray, Tsar, and Tigris coat patterns. And why not sew them for a beautiful, warm Dandelion jacket?
