L’Avventura – Fall 2025 Collection & FAQ
L'Avventura is a tribute to a certain idea of style: Italian tailoring, both structured and lively, embodied in the 60s and 70s by the figures of auteur cinema.
The collection is built on this gentle tension between assertive masculinity and contained fragility, refinement without rigidity, this way of crossing the image with grace without ever posing: the silhouette is fluid, the costume impeccable and the nonchalance dramatic.
The Maison Fauve wardrobe takes these codes and turns them into a feminine twist, offering a contemporary, sharp, and furiously free look. The silhouette is graphic, built on the opposition between the rigor of the cut and the movement of the fabric. The garment becomes an expression of attitude, of what is hidden, restrained, diverted: a tailoring detail on a skirt, a masculine collar on a feminine piece...
Coats inspired by the masculine wardrobe, modernized trousers, perfectly proportioned skirts and flowing blouses: the precious fabrics - wools, tweeds, viscose jacquards, poplins, laces and dupion - are carefully selected to enhance each creation, while offering a flawless sewing experience.

The new patterns from the L'Avventura collection
Each pattern in the L'Avventura collection embodies Maison Fauve's signature codes : a delicately designed neckline, carefully crafted back details, pleats and darts for a precise cut, elegant pockets, and lines crafted down to the smallest detail.
The models interact with each other and combine naturally, to create a coherent and refined hand-sewn wardrobe.
A subtle motif returns like a common thread, a gentle refrain: a line in the profile of a swallow , which underlines a neckline, dresses a back, is sketched on a wrist or slips in the blink of an eye onto a pocket.
The MARCELLO coat
Marcello slips on like a borrowed man's coat, but its belted fit creates an infinitely feminine look. A knee-length, collarless coat with a belted waist and a neckline that gently curves up the neck. Its buttonless construction emphasizes a relaxed yet confident look, with refined tailoring on the shoulder and back.
Inspired by 1960s Italian tailoring, MARCELLO plays on the strength of a sharp shoulder and the softness of a drape to curl up in. A deceptively androgynous must-have for uncompromising elegance.
The VOLATA blouse
Poetic and light, VOLATA seduces with its clean lines that escape rigor thanks to the delicacy of its swallow-wing neckline on the front and back. Very chic in solids or prints, it can be adapted to suit the seasons and moods.
The VITTORIA shirt
Inspired by the men's shirt, VITTORIA brings this classic into a contemporary and feminine wardrobe. Dropped armholes, straight and slightly loose fit, with polo-style button placket, small collar and swallow-shaped inserts. Its length is ideal for casually tucking it into a skirt or trousers.
The ANDREA pants
Barrel leg cut, slightly rounded on the leg and tightened at the ankle, ANDREA mixes tailoring spirit and modernity. Piped pockets on the front, marked pleat and back patch pockets with signature swallow-shaped detail. The waistband sits in the hollow of the waist for a perfect balance between style and comfort.
The SILVANA skirt
The Silvana skirt plays with the codes of the men's wardrobe and reinterprets tailored trousers in a bold and ultra-feminine way: slightly flared cut and timeless midi length, front slit, Italian pockets and a thin belt with belt loops. The back is closed by an invisible zip and supported by darts for a perfect fit.
The new fabrics of the Avventura
A new print, high-end wools, a bold color palette, the fabrics of the Avventura collection are in unison with the new patterns: bold, elegant, with just the right amount of nonchalance.
The L’Avventura couture palette
Inspired by Italian lands and winter lights, the chromatic range of L'Avventura is expressed in deep hues:
-
Plum , Beetle Green , Navy Blue, dark colors light up and assert themselves
-
Cinnamon , Red Cherry warm, intense, vibrant notes
-
Glazed Brown , Khaki , Moss Green, Almond Green and Lemonade Yellow are organic, more muted tones, like a breath that underline the stronger colors of the outfit.
Each shade is available in materials designed to interact with each other: wools, jacquards, printed poplins, lace... The sewn garments combine harmoniously.
The new capsule fabrics
New materials, new colors—we've sourced sublime fabrics to showcase the new Maison Fauve patterns. A selection of fabrics to suit your tastes, perfect for the season, to expand the possibilities of your hand-sewn wardrobe.
The new exceptional woolens
-
Loden wool cloth : 100% virgin wool, it has a soft drape and its forest green color is reminiscent of Austrian coats
-
Anthracite grey herringbone tweed : the strong herringbone pattern and its rustic, textured appearance give it an authentic "gentleman farmer" feel
-
Small-checked braided tweed : pure wool, with a nice hold without being too thick, the small checks in shades of brown are a beautiful borrowing from the men's wardrobe.
Our new wools have been designed to match perfectly with the Marcello coat pattern : they drape beautifully while having the expected hold for a coat, and will highlight the cutouts, the work of the raglan sleeves and the beautiful signature neckline of the pattern without fear of excess rigidity.
They will also be a very good choice for sewing all of our coat patterns (Pam, Tigris, Cliff and Ray).
The "tailored wools" range (available on our site in anthracite gray and deep black) is ideal for sewing the Andréa pants and the Silvana skirt in a very elegant and high-end tailoring mood.
Refined fabrics
-
Poetry Viscose Jacquard : This 100% viscose fabric has the timelessness of plain and the preciousness of jacquard. Its tone-on-tone floral embroidery plays on the alternation between matte and shiny, illuminating your creations with elegance.
-
Tencel, linen, and cotton dupion : a new material joining the Maison Fauve textile range this spring, dupion has it all. Its drape is perfect, allowing you to sew skirts, pants, jackets, and blouses with just the right amount of hold, while maintaining flexibility.
-
Daphne Lace : Our beautiful floral lace is adorned with the intense colors of winter. A beautiful emerald or amethyst lace blouse will be like a hand-sewn jewel.
The signature pattern of the season
Pietra printed viscose poplin
Discover the new Pietra printed viscose poplin from the L'Avventura Fall-Winter 2025 collection.
-
Design & inspiration : As if carved from rock, the Pietra print draws its inspiration from the raw beauty of the mineral. A pattern that captures the light and gives relief to the fabric, between natural geometry and elegant abstraction .
-
Colors & variations : Cinnamon, Cherry Red, Plum and Lavender – the pattern stands out and contrasts with the background, the colors of which match the solid colors in our collections.
-
Fabrics & Uses : Light, flowing and soft, poplin is ideal for dresses and blouses with clean, supple lines like Volata , Vittoria , or Scala . Perfectly opaque, it will enhance a beautiful dress like Rosalie , Cuba Libre or Soliflore . The print magnifies the movement and fluidity of the fabric.

About the new bosses
I fell for a pattern but the level of sewing announced scares me a little, will I succeed in making the model?
The recommended sewing level is determined according to different criteria:
-
Number of pattern pieces (the more pieces there are, the greater the risk of error due to lack of precision)
-
The sewing techniques used
-
Any adjustments you may need to make (adapting a blouse to your body shape will be less complex than trousers, for example).
ALL patterns have a free video tutorial that you can access even before purchasing the pattern: this means you can watch the video to consider the technical points covered. Our videos are extremely detailed, I show you every sewing step. I also explain to you in the articles dedicated to the tutorials what the different techniques will be covered when sewing the pattern.
If you've fallen in love with a pattern but feel you need to improve a bit, this can be an opportunity to learn new sewing skills. Don't hesitate to sew a toile (a trial run of the pattern in a "regular" fabric) to familiarize yourself with the assembly range and sewing techniques described.
How do the patterns fit?
Each pattern's product sheet and brochures provide information on the specific cuts of each model. The clothing sizes worn by our models are also listed.
You also have 2 tools to support you:
-
The size chart: it tells you the recommended size based on your measurements
-
The finished garment measurement chart: this tells you the size of the garment once sewn.
-
The values in these two tables are different because you have to take into account the ease, that is to say the extra cm which will allow you to be comfortable in your garment but also to define a cut.
-
Discover in the site's Journal an article dedicated to choosing the right size. → See the sewing guide...
Can I easily adapt the patterns to my body shape?
We'll help you adjust your patterns with a free, comprehensive guide that you can download for free from our website. The patterns have more lines for shortening and lengthening to adjust your height. → See the article on how to adapt patterns to your body shape...
Can I easily shorten/lengthen the patterns?
Yes, each pattern has shorten/lengthen lines to guide you.
For Silvana: These lines will also allow you to see where you can possibly modify the height of the slot.
For Andrea this line will allow you to manage the length of the pants according to your height without altering the specific barrel leg cut of the pants.
For Marcello, the line passes over the outline of the piped pocket. You will absolutely have to keep the dimensions of this one and transfer it identically to your new pattern.
Can the Vittoria shirt be lengthened into a dress?
Yes, no problem, the ease of the pattern is comfortable, it will give a pretty shirt dress style dress, to wear belted. You just have to lengthen the pattern by following the lines indicated for this purpose. For the quantity of fabric to order in this case, double the value of the addition in length (blouse extended by 30 cm, order 60 cm of fabric in addition to what is recommended according to your choice of grading size).
And how to transform the Volata blouse into a dress?
The cut of this model is more fitted than the Vittoria shirt. I recommend you consult the article dedicated to transforming a blouse into a dress (using the example of the Cicadella blouse pattern). available on our site. And always make a web before starting on a precious piece of fabric when you transform a pattern! → See Cicadella's hack...
Can the legs of the Andrea pants be altered to make them fit better?
In sewing, anything is possible. However, the cut and plumb lines of the Andrea pattern are created for this very specific cut. There will be many adjustments to consider in order to achieve a harmonious cut if you wish to transform the pattern.
I recommend checking out our other trouser patterns, including the Belem trousers, which have a flared leg that tapers to the ankle, but without the barrel leg cut. And if you like pleated trousers, check out the Brooklyn trouser pattern.
Can I easily cut out the curves to create a deeper neckline on the Volata blouse?
This pattern required a lot of adjustment steps to get the perfect play of fullness and hollows. Again, you are free to correct the pattern but this may be to the detriment of the harmony of the cut. If you look at the images of the blouse worn, you will see that the neck is not at all cramped.
About the new fabrics
Can I sew Marcello without lining, as a mid-season overcoat?
Yes, it's absolutely possible. Don't hesitate to check out this tutorial, which, using the example of the Pam coat, shows you how to sew an unlined coat with pretty finishes. → See the sewing tutorial for an unlined jacket...
How do I know if the new fabrics will be suitable for my future projects?
In this article, we describe the specific characteristics of each fabric, as well as the recommended Maison Fauve patterns for sewing them. We also provide the fabric weight on each product sheet to help you assess whether it's compatible with your pattern. A short video available directly on the product sheet and on our YouTube channel will give you a glimpse of the fabric in motion.
You also have the option of ordering fabric samples to see the feel and "hand" of our fabrics.
How do I choose the right fabric for my Maison Fauve pattern?
We detail the composition, weight and drape of the fabric on each product sheet, as well as the recommended patterns.
-
MARCELLO : choose woolens (fluid loden, flannel, herringbone or basketweave tweed) for a beautiful drape.
-
ANDREA : is ideal for tailored wools, dupion and denim.
-
VOLATA & VITTORIA : Opt for soft fabrics like viscose poplin or Tencel satin. Lace is a lovely alternative.
-
SILVANA : ideal with soft or flowing fabrics (light flannel, tailored wool or dupion) to highlight the slit and the drape of the skirt. The Poésie viscose jacquard is also a nice choice.
You can also order a sample to evaluate the hand and texture of the fabric.
How to care for these precious fabrics?
As these fabrics are 100% wool or wool-rich, we recommend a specialist dry cleaner to preserve their quality.
Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, which can cause felting or alter their drape. For all our fabrics, care instructions are available on each product page. Proper care will ensure the longevity and beauty of your hand-sewn garment.
Are the fabrics difficult to sew?
The wools offered are of very good quality, with sufficient hold to be easy to handle. Soft loden, woolen cloth, and basketweave tweed are particularly pleasant for hand-sewn coat projects. For herringbone tweed, be sure to overlock the edges to avoid fraying. Dupion is a very easy fabric to sew and handle. Poplin, lighter, requires care when cutting the pieces but does not slip and is easy to sew. Daphne lace is a cotton and polyamide blend; it does not lose its shape and is easy to sew.
Should coats made from these fabrics be lined?
For a flawless finish and optimal comfort, we recommend lining garments sewn in our wool fabrics when specified on the pattern. The 100% cupro lining is ideal: soft, breathable, and suitable for fine fabrics.
For MARCELLO, the lining is included in the pattern, you can choose a neutral shade or dare to contrast.
Do I need to iron on all the pieces if I sew the MARCELLO coat in these fabrics?
This is not necessary. Follow the instructions in the booklet: iron on only the intended pieces (facings, waistband, neckline). These wools have a beautiful natural hold and do not require full interfacing.
Why will some references never be restocked?
Some fabrics, particularly wools, come from dormant stocks of major fashion houses and are no longer produced. This makes them unique pieces. Once sold, they cannot be reordered.
Will I easily find haberdashery and buttons suitable for these new fabrics with such special colors?
We've got it all covered! Each fabric has a matching sewing thread, and we're offering new zippers to match the fabric color as closely as possible.
Our button range has expanded: you'll find buttons in colors that match your favorite fabrics. We have our buttons made in France, and for each new color in the Maison Fauve catalog, we provide the Pantone code to the manufacturer. We promise no mistakes :)
I hope you enjoy discovering our new products, for a future hand-sewn wardrobe that you will adopt as a matter of course!
