Why not take out a beautiful Ispahan jacket in sparkling jacquard from the wardrobe?! This little gem also deserves to set sail and it would be a shame not to take one or two wonders with you. A denim jacket is of course always a good idea, rolled up in your luggage the beautiful Pilar will be there to accompany you if the weather turns (a little) stormy. Ahhh, your wardrobe is full of pretty things but a new DIY before leaving (just to empty the coupon cupboard a bit…) wouldn't be refused?! Don't panic, here is our selection of quickly sewn patterns that are perfect for the holidays:
- A small top that is easy to sew and comfortable as anything, bet on Palma , Marisa , Sirocco or Nana . These 4 models are accessible even to beginner seamstresses and will go perfectly with your favorite denim shorts (yes yes, the frayed rascal, upcycling of your old 501 comforter).
- You are more experienced and you want a nice top before leaving, why not Santa Fe and its signature asymmetry? It is quick to sew and will definitely hit the mark. I recommend the collarless version with a pretty bow on the shoulder, more pleasant in high heat than the high collar. If you like American armholes, I also suggest the Panama top . Its gathered bust ensures comfort, its shoulders and its low-cut underarms have the perfect loose touch (I see it too much in embroidered and colorful cotton voile, like a vintage piece or a garment brought back from a faraway trip).
For a stunning backless top, the Paola top will be your secret weapon. Its cut and side panels make it a feminine and very summery flowing top sewing pattern.
