The Fauve season: the new autumn capsule collection by Maison Fauve

The trees are turning red, the days are getting shorter, the mornings are getting cooler… But there’s no question of giving in to the surrounding grey.
At Maison Fauve, autumn is experienced in colours, textures and sewing ideas.

La Saison Fauve is a hand-sewn wardrobe that celebrates a rich color palette, the softness and fluffiness of beautiful woolens, and the joy of getting back to your machine for a project ready to sew without a hitch.

Welcome to The Savage Season ...

Autumn Moons - The colors of the season

Lunares, the timeless charm of polka dots: Polka dots are the absolute hit of the year. Timeless and always in style, we never tire of using them all over or as an accent. For autumn, the LUNARES polka dot collection expands with 4 variations that reflect the season's new colors at Maison Fauve: Plum and Iced Brown join Navy Blue and Mocha.

Whether used as a solid background or as a colorful accent, mix patterns and play with harmonies: Plum polka dots, Ecru plum polka dots, Brown polka dots and Ecru brown polka dots.

SCALA EN VARSITY - The new sewing box

Scala is a highly refined shirt pattern, with numerous details that create a distinctive look that will never go out of style. Created for a collaboration with Marie Claire Idées for the magazine's back-to-school issue, the Scala shirt pattern is now available as a printed pattern and includes a new collarless version with an impeccable neckline finish. This version offers a more relaxed interpretation of the pattern, and we'll guide you through every step of the sewing process with a booklet featuring instructions for attaching the bias binding to the neckline (the bias binding piece is also included in the pattern sheet).

We are celebrating the arrival of the Scala pattern in paper format by pairing it with a quality fabric for our new autumn sewing box.

Inspired by the campus spirit, the stripe VARSITY structures the silhouette and highlights every detail of the pattern. Woven in France, this fluid viscose jacquard is distinguished by its fine stripes enhanced with a delicate lurex thread , which captures the light without ever being over the top.

Scala in Varsity reminds me of students strolling in Central Park, a pretty collar peeking out of a sweatshirt, a bright shirt shaking up a wool skirt, a piece that we will love no matter the season because it will never go out of style.

Why this new sewing box?

You often ask us if it would be possible to offer sewing kits featuring patterns and/or fabrics already present in our collections. The arrival of Scala as a printed pattern is the perfect opportunity to make this offer. The advantage of a sewing kit: a pattern/fabric combination that works, carefully selected notions from buttons, thread, and needles to fusible interfacing that's suitable for the fabric and the project. This ensures a coherent project down to the smallest detail, and the promise of a garment that is as beautiful as it is well made, without any unpleasant surprises, for maximum sewing pleasure.

Contents of the sewing box

Each box contains all the necessary materials to make your SCALA shirt:

New exceptional woolens for your creations

The wool coat fabrics offered at the launch of the L'Avventura collection were so popular that they quickly sold out. I therefore set about finding new fabrics perfect for sewing our trench coat and coat patterns. Beautiful fabrics sourced in Italy, very high-end materials (virgin wool, cashmere), and an original offering for your future creations. All our wool fabrics come from surplus stock, so we are unable to restock once they are sold out.

  • Brushed Wool and Cashmere Fabric: The blend of virgin wool and cashmere provides unparalleled warmth while remaining supple and incredibly soft. Its vibrant teal color will add a unique and elegant touch to your winter coats and jackets.

  • Textured black wool with royal blue checks: this beautiful, medium-weight, 100% virgin wool fabric is full of character. Supple yet with a lovely structure thanks to its pronounced weave, it will add a touch of sophisticated Anglo-Saxon style to your hand-sewn trench coats and jackets.

  • 100% virgin wool fabric in heather gray anthracite: supple and soft, this beautiful wool fabric is a perfect choice for sewing a coat or jacket with a slightly fuzzy look. Its excellent quality will allow you to sew a timeless and durable garment.

  • Bouclé Virgin Wool Tweed: Given the enthusiasm for our herringbone tweed at the launch of the Avventura, I selected this magnificent tweed fabric with its voluminous knit, blending black and white yarns, which is very pleasant to the touch. Supple and soft, it drapes beautifully and gives the garment that androgynous, very "gentleman farmer" feel.

We also offer a lovely range of buttons for jackets and coats that will ensure perfect finishing touches to your future creation!

In conclusion

Autumn, at Maison Fauve, is not a season of retreat, but an invitation to create, to play with materials, textures and colors.
Between timeless polka dots, luminous Varsity stripes, and exceptional woolens, La Saison Fauve celebrates all that is rich and inspiring about this period. Now it's your turn to write the next chapter!
