When a blazer is irresistible... Here's Manhattan! This jacket is definitely the star piece of the Empire State of Fauve collection: a fitted cut with yokes, featuring defined shoulders, a bold peak lapel, a fashionable length perfect for wearing your belted blazer, and the option to sew a piped pocket with a flap or a patch pocket with a flap. And the finishes are impeccable throughout, as your jacket is fully lined, with a secret pocket inside the garment. Terribly chic, isn't it?!

The Manhattan pattern grades from 34 to 52. The finished garment measurement chart is available in the product photos.

The Manhattan jacket worn by Émilie (with the tiger print shirt) is sewn in our black suiting wool fabric with a contrasting effect in the new black Tiger jacquard fabric. The lining is entirely made from the same Tiger fabric. For the lining and the front and back facings, you should add 70 cm to the initially planned lining quantity.

Sewing level : advanced, the technical points are the collar assembly, the placement of the shoulder pads/sleeve head rolls, and the assembly of the lining to the jacket.

The pattern can be purchased with shoulder pads and sleeve head rolls. 

SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED (1 CM).

Size

The Manhattan pattern grades from 34 to 52. The finished garment measurement chart is available in the product photos.

Emilie, Amanda and Cathy wear the jacket in size 36 and Vanina in size 50.

Supplies

- A pair of shoulder pads 11 cm long and 1 cm thick
- A pair of sleeve head rolls (these 2 items are available with your Manhattan pattern purchase and on our online store)
- 90 cm of iron-on interfacing for pieces 6-7-8-14-23 and the bottom of pieces 1-2-3-4-5
- 2 buttons from 20 to 22 mm
- Fabric for a width of 140 cm:
34-40: 180 cm
42-46: 200 cm
48-52: 215 cm
- Lining for a width of 140 cm:
34-40: 130 cm
42-44: 140 cm
46-52: 160 cm

A light wool, fine tweed, Prince of Wales, velvet, supple fabrics between 150 and 300 g/m2. The jacket has a fitted cut, so I recommend choosing a specific lining fabric, such as our 100% slippery and more breathable lining than polyester.
