Tutorial The Tamara dress: revisited in a blouse version, and ruffled sleeve
Good morning!
Here is a new video tutorial in the form of a surprise, because it accompanies the publication of our new issue of L'Oeil Fauve magazine!
As with the previous issue, this tutorial is an opportunity to revisit a flagship model from Maison Fauve, the Tamara dress pattern . Don't worry, the video describes in detail all the steps needed to sew the original pattern. But I also suggest revisiting the pattern a little: shortened into a blouse, with pretty ruffles taken in the cut of the sleeve... Enough to dance in style for the holidays!
For this version I chose this pretty viscose crepe from Pretty Mercerie (I never get tired of leopard print ;) ).
The technical points of the Tamara pattern are: sewing darts and pleats, understanding how to assemble a wrap garment, discreetly placing and stabilizing a facing, setting in sleeves (and the 2 types of sleeve finishing are described) and a sleeve cuff.
To sew this blouse you will need less fabric than for the dress: remove 1m20 from the indicated fabric consumption (this varies according to your grading size). The gathering strip is 80 cm long and 10 cm wide and it is cut lengthwise in the direction of the straight grain.
So, which Wild Woman in Tamara will you be?
Happy sewing!
