Sewing pattern tutorial: hacking the Cuba Libre dress into a blouse

At Maison Fauve, we believe that each of our sewing patterns is made to be loved and sewn for a long time. Reinterpreted season after season and with new fabrics, your favorite designs are reinvented. This summer, I've chosen the beautiful Cuba Libre dress as my playground to spoil you.

We are delighted to offer you in the summer 2025 edition of l'Oeil Fauve magazine the complementary pieces to the dress pattern to sew an adorable Cuba Libre blouse.

Lightweight, ultra-fast and easy to sew, this version is accessible to beginner seamstresses (this is also the case for the dress version hihihi), especially since we have prepared a very complete step-by-step video for you.

The technical points covered are:

Sew pointed toes
Sew a V-neckline
Make gathers
Sew set-in sleeves

The sewing hack includes new front and back bust pieces. You'll need the original Cuba Libre dress pattern to sew your blouse. These additional pieces are available in the magazine:

In PDF format (A4, A3 and US letter format with frames to facilitate the assembly of the sheets, A0 format and video projection),
Seam allowances are included in the pattern and are 1 cm,
A detailed and illustrated brochure is also included in the list of files to download (with cutting plans by size range, the finished garment measurement table to help you choose your size, the required supplies, fabric consumption and recommendations on fabric choice).
