Suzie blue...the little skirt that's been going round in my head.

Hello! Phew, I'm coming to my senses after this crazy week of CSF, and I'm back exhausted but pumped up by all these meetings. A huge thank you to all those who came to visit me at the show, you are kind, super motivating and receiving all this support and this demonstration of confidence once a year IN REAL LIFE is so so good!!! I'm also thinking of all those who can't or don't want to come to Paris for this event, the couturosphere changes face during this week and it's surely boring... But as a designer it's an important meeting because it allows me to introduce my work and the world of my brand to sewing and clothing enthusiasts who don't know Maison Fauve. Showing the clothes, explaining the creative process, that's what I try to do via the blog and Instagram but it only has an impact on those who follow my work, and the CSF opens me up to new encounters :) And then it's also an opportunity to see my fellow designers, fabric editors, my IG testers and friends and my pretty Zoé (best partner in crime in the world!!!!). This show is an important event, with a lot of work in advance to make it a successful event. That's why a little late pattern is making a surprise appearance before being offered to you on the site. Last year it was the pretty Rocaille blouse that played this role. You really liked it and this launch went so well that I wanted to highlight a piece again on this year's edition. Maison Fauve is a reflection of my fashion desires and as those I have met have noticed, it is my wardrobe that I expand from season to season with each collection launch. And this famous Maison Fauve wardrobe is starting to have quite a few pretty pieces, but ultimately very few skirts ( Ivy and Highland are models that I really like but which for many do not consider themselves in an everyday wardrobe). I then thought about and imagined the Suzie skirt, with all that it can have of complicated to combine: wearability on a daily basis, nice drape, neither anachronism nor too easy in the "style" of the garment, a choice of fabric not too limiting, and always following my desires. The beautiful Suzie meets the criteria that I had set for myself, I wanted a well-defined waist in which to slip a blouse or a tee shirt, a line less classic than a pencil skirt, and a model not too technical to sew for a wowwww result and I had a blast declining it in several materials. There is the Eglantine et Zoé viscose crepe version which was your favorite at the show. The fabric has the advantage of making the pleats on the front dance, which gives the skirt a lot of lightness despite the length below the knee. The suede version from The Sweet Mercerie most closely reflects what I had in mind when working on Suzie, in that it is a "real" winter skirt, and the solid tone brings out the pleats and the beautiful buttons. In this type of seasonal fabric, the camel velvet version with its pretty flowers from Sacrés Coupons is also very successful! The mini version in Prince of Wales cotton lycra Pretty mercerie is so cute, we gently slide towards the kilt or at least towards the skirt of a good girl not so good....and for my part not so young girl either ;)! The beautiful Suzie is available here on my eshop , I hope she will inspire you with many beautiful versions (light wool, short velvet, graouuuu leopard skirt...I already have other desires!!!). I'll see you very soon, because I'm finalizing a project that is very important to me and that I am very very impatient to present to you!!!
