The Transat Couture Box is available!

Each new sewing box offers a playground that I find truly exciting. The Palma sewing box was the opportunity to present our very first fabric capsule, the Mia box offered you a pattern that has become one of our signature models, the Métropolis box was in my eyes a real challenge both in terms of the creative research around the pattern and the desire to offer you a garment sewn in exceptional materials.

So the bar was set high when I worked on this new sewing box. I sought to combine an accessible sewing pattern, perfect for fully entering the beautiful season, which is full of pretty details and a fabric that I love and that you also loved: the Léo viscose jacquard.

The inspirations

The Transat dress joins the La Piscine collection , and completes the Maison Fauve wardrobe by bringing just the right amount of nonchalance to this wardrobe that I wanted to be light, feminine and easy to wear. The image I had in mind was the Italian heroines: Monica Vitti, Sophia Loren, Virna Lisi, Claudia Cardinale, voluptuous, proud women, whose gaze electrifies you. The chest is magnified, the waist marked, we can see a leg but it remains suggested. There is flexibility, the body is not tight, the look is free. I wanted the women who wear Transat to feel beautiful, unstoppable… Incendiary!

The Transat dress sewing pattern

Creating an easy sewing pattern is almost more complicated than creating a highly technical piece. Indeed, it's in the details that you'll have to give the garment its uniqueness. The Transat dress hides beneath its apparent "simplicity of line" what makes it unique:

- Its straight cut, barely fitted, is embellished with wide belts to highlight the waist

- A play of pleats that gives ease to the chest, embellishes the shoulder line, and adds relief to play with the fabric

- A neckline in the front and back, the cutout of which does not prevent you from wearing a bra (and the sewing pattern provides a hidden strap attachment)

- The front of the dress is highlighted with a slit which provides more comfort when worn and instills a massive dose of femininity

The new Maison Fauve couture box

To accompany this pretty pattern, I chose our Léo viscose jacquard, in 2 new colors: Scarab Green and Pepper Pink . This fabric has a soft, slightly heavy drape, it drapes nicely and above all the satin leopard patterns of the weave give it a crazy charm. The Transat dress then takes on a new dimension, the fabric gives it a hint of sophistication without taking anything away from the comfort and the "no frills" look of the model.

Your sewing box contains everything you need to sew the Transat dress:
- The appropriate fabric footage in the color Scarab Green or Pepper Pink
- The Transat pocket pattern (with the A0 plan of the pattern whose pieces do not overlap, the seam allowances are included, and with its explanatory booklet illustrated with diagrams)
- All the necessary haberdashery: sewing thread to match your Vert Scarabée or Rose Pepper fabric, a box of Microtex needles , suitable iron-on adhesive , a pretty Femme Fauve label , and 2 small press studs for the strap fasteners.

And of course, the pattern comes with a free step-by-step video tutorial to guide you through each step of the sewing process. Like all our videos, this sewing tutorial is available whether or not you've purchased the pattern, so you can assess the various technical points covered if necessary (ideal for beginner seamstresses who need reassurance before getting started).

An ideal gift idea to spoil your favorite seamstress, to be found in the selection of our Mother's Day gift guide .

I hope you enjoy discovering Transat, and I look forward to seeing you swept away by the Dolce Vita!
