In The Mood For Fauve, the collection is online!
Good morning !
Here we are, here we go, the In the mood for Fauve collection of sewing patterns and fabrics is available!!!
If I had butterflies in my stomach when the lookbook was put online, now it's a tsunami that stirs me when it comes to putting the collection online ;)
Since the creation of Maison Fauve, I have been guided by a specific idea: couture is an alternative way of considering fashion consumption. And this influences my way of working: creating a collection universe, thinking about a wardrobe, a complete wardrobe, with a real demand for style but the need to be able to be sewn by seamstresses of different levels. And above all, I have to imagine with each new shoot how to put all these ideas and inspirations into images.
Each new season is an opportunity to surpass yourself, to be ever more creative and to surround yourself with the right people to bring the collection to life.
For In The Mood For Fauve , the universe of the collection was very "ambitious", with a strong aesthetic, and quite sophisticated in the theme and inspirations:
This "retro film noir" aesthetic is not easy to embody in images without falling into the costume, the caricature of the genre. We were 4 women to pose and I imagined our wardrobes keeping in mind that the range of colors, the materials, had to be consistent from one to the other. The solids are strong, the colors vibrant, like in the film by Wong Kar-Wai, or the universe of David Lynch. Deep reds, blues in all shades, strong green, ochres... A palette that we also find on our covers.
The sewing patterns in this collection , I designed them for this heroine:
- A beautiful long coat , a little masculine in the Katharine Hepburn style, with its softening shawl collar and large pockets, the PAM coat
- Such an elegant dress/blouse with its square neckline, beautiful wrist and worked shoulder, the beautiful LAUREN
- A skirt with an impeccable and ultra-feminine cut, and with multiple options, the elegant KIM
- A jumpsuit (and a dress) with a large collar that is essential this season, and with a clever faux ensemble-style bust construction, the FAYE jumpsuit
