The flagship new products of Clash The Rhythm

The new sewing pattern: the Twist draped dress

The Twist draped dress pattern, the central piece of the capsule, perfectly embodies the spirit of the season:

  • sculptural, deceptively simple cut

  • cleverly studied play of pleats

  • feminine and assertive silhouette

An ideal model for exploring strong materials and creating a "statement" piece.

An exclusive sewing box

The capsule also offers a Twist draped dress / Clash jacquard box, perfect for getting started without hesitation:

  • pouch pattern included, graded from 34 to 52

  • coordinated fabric and notions

  • complete sewing experience thanks to the video tutorial

The capsule's signature fabrics

Clash The Rhythm introduces a rich and bold textile palette:

Clash Jacquard:

  • black & beige

  • orange / neon pink

  • emerald / cumin

  • cobalt / sulfur

Fever Printed Viscose Poplin:

  • neon pink

  • azure

  • coral

Plain Gabardine:

  • mastic

  • navy

  • black

Each material is designed to play with light, movement, and structure.

Notions: The details that make all the difference

Because style is also about the finishing touches, the capsule offers perfectly coordinated notions:

  • Poppy Navy gold buttons (15 or 18 mm)

  • Wink matte black buttons (12 or 15 mm)

  • Wink glossy neon pink buttons

  • new 40 cm zippers (cobalt blue, neon pink clash, azure)

This capsule is for those who want to:

  • move beyond basics

  • explore more creative sewing

  • assert a strong style

  • work with original materials

Clash The Rhythm is more than a collection: it's a sewing attitude.

FAQ – Clash The Rhythm

❓ When will the Clash The Rhythm capsule be released?

The capsule will be online on Tuesday, April 21st at 9 am.

❓ Who is this sewing capsule for?

It is aimed at intermediate to advanced sewers, but also motivated beginners thanks to the comprehensive sewing box. The fabrics in the capsule are not difficult to sew, and we offer free video tutorials for all our patterns.

❓ Is the Twist pattern difficult to sew?

The Twist draped dress pattern has few pieces, and the draping and pleating are quite simple to achieve. The main technical points are the invisible side zipper installation and the inlay of the front skirt side. All sewing steps are explained in detail in the pattern brochure and in the step-by-step video.

❓ Can the Twist dress pattern be easily modified?

You can easily adjust the length to shorten or lengthen your dress to make a mini or maxi version.
For more complex modifications:

  • can I lengthen the sleeve and make a long sleeve? This will require doing tests, especially beyond a mid-bicep length, as sleeve patterning is not simply about extending the piece

  • can I widen the front neckline? You can slightly deepen the neckline, but any more significant transformation will negatively affect the pleat placement and the dress's balance.

  • can the front pleats be removed? Unless you have solid pattern-making skills, this will be complicated. And besides, the pretty pleats are a bit "the salt" of the model. In that case, I recommend choosing another pattern.

  • can I remove or move the invisible side zipper? It will not be possible to remove it (you wouldn't be able to put on the dress). Moving it to the center back will require altering the pattern for the skirt, bodice, and facing (and the assembly instructions will be different).

  • can I change the zipper side? The zipper's position takes into account the model's construction, where the front is not cut "mirror-image". I do not recommend moving the zipper.

  • can I transform the Twist dress into a top? Well, we actually asked ourselves the same question... It's not impossible that a nice hack might appear.

❓ What fabrics should I choose for the Twist dress?

Only woven fabrics; the pattern is not suitable for knit fabrics. We recommend soft and lightweight fabrics (max. 200g/m2). Solid colors enhance the dress's cut and highlight the pleats, immersing us completely in the minimalist spirit of the 90s. Prints are also not left out, as the dress's bodice is twisted during assembly, so the twisted effect will also be showcased on the motif.

We present the Twist dress pattern in several fabrics:

  • the Clash jacquard: the drape and appearance of the fabric give the pattern a very successful structured look; the pleats are beautifully highlighted

  • the Fever printed viscose poplin: its fluidity brings a lot of lightness to the model, and the cut of the dress bodice literally "twists" the motif

  • the plain viscose twill: soft, with a somewhat heavy drape, the draped effect of the dress is sublime. We offer this fabric in a very wide range of colors, always with an intense finish.

❓ Why choose the sewing box?

The Twist sewing box contains everything you need to sew your dress:

  • the fabric is perfectly suited to the model

  • we provide you with matching notions (zipper, spool of thread)

  • the sewing experience is complete: the box includes the pouch pattern, the appropriate yardage, thread, zipper, a pretty label, but also needles and fusible interfacing, no mistakes possible!

❓ Can the Clash jacquard and Twist pattern be purchased outside the box?

Absolutely! You can purchase these items separately. The Twist pattern product sheet provides information on the required yardage and supplies. The fabric product sheet informs you about the notions to coordinate with your chosen color and pattern recommendations.

❓ Can I choose a fabric other than the Clash jacquard in the sewing box?

This is not possible. However, you can individually order the fabric of your choice as well as the Twist pattern. Information on supplies is available on the pattern's product sheet, and each fabric's product sheet informs you about matching notions.

❓ How can I distinguish the right side from the wrong side on the Clash jacquard? And for the new cotton gabardine?

The Clash jacquard has no right or wrong side, and we have sewn it on both sides. It's up to you to choose the one you like best, or even make "matchy matchy" pieces by playing with both sides.
For the cotton gabardine, it's a twill weave: we consider the side where the characteristic "diagonals" of this type of fabric are most pronounced.

❓ What is different about this new gabardine compared to the one already sold at Maison Fauve?

Our new 100% cotton gabardine has a more visible twill weave. It is also a little softer. It is also slightly heavier (300g/m2 instead of 250). It is the same material as our printed cotton gabardine. The pattern recommendations remain identical to the old gabardine, namely: blouson, jacket, jeans, trousers, shorts, structured skirt (e.g., A-line skirt or straight skirt).
