Freestyle and Palma: a luminous duo
I like to have "strong" clothes in my wardrobe, like style enhancers, pieces of character that alone will set the tone for a look. And the beauty of hand-sewn is being able to think through this type of model down to the smallest details, because the magic happens particularly when this piece really suits us.
I created the Nage libre jacket pattern with this desire, that of a jacket that is half-elegant, half-bohemian, and that will really make a statement depending on the fabric choice. We can then wear our creation with as much nonchalance as if it were a denim jacket or a mid-season blazer.
The inspirations
These ultra-colorful designs are incredibly inspiring. Whether you choose graphic prints or more figurative patterns, pairing them with a perfect white shirt and jeans takes you away from the usual beach-themed outfit and gives it a modern feel that won't make it look out of place in the city.
The Nage Libre sewing pattern
For the shoot, we presented you the pattern sewn in a duo of Twist jacquards and Sable cotton satin . We navigate between the shimmering and elegant mid-season jacket, and the overcoat-style jacket, more versatile with the touch of color that brightens everything up. So it is a completely different version that I want to present to you, the most colorful: Nage Libre enhanced with Mini Lemon Ultra Violet sauce.
The boss's peculiarities
The construction of Nage Libre is distinguished by its raglan sleeves, its collar band which stops at the waist to "build" the silhouette, and of course its back cut. The choice of the Mini Lemon pattern, very graphic and stylized lemons, visually brings a beautiful movement which will be further reinforced by the flexibility of the fabric. It seemed important to me to break up this all-over printed effect a little and I played with all the elements of the pattern by highlighting them with a golden piping , which brings a precious note and allows you to better "read" the model.
Playing with colors and patterns
Under my Nage Libre jacket hides another strong piece: the Palma top sewn in Léo Vert Scarabée viscose jacquard . The Palma pattern is a beginner's sewing pattern , with a slightly boxy, loose and cropped cut, and a round neckline. Its back is nicely highlighted with a yoke closed by ties and a play of wide stitched pleats. The depth of the green matches wonderfully with the intense purple. And to stick to my inspirations, I wear my duo with faded jeans (Sézane model) and pretty black La Botte Gardiane leather sandals.
I really like this look, as comfortable as possible while having a real signature. These 2 patterns are not technical and complicated to sew: the Palma top is an easy pattern (which comes with a video really designed for seamstresses who are new to sewing clothes), and the Nage Libre jacket does not have high technical points, you just have to take your time (the video will guide you through each step, and the lining assembly is really very simple).
I know I'll be wearing this soft and colorful version of Nage Libre a lot. Because that's where the bet is paid off: sewing beautiful clothes that you know you'll enjoy wearing for a long time, even if they're not everyday pieces!
