The Empire State Of Fauve Podcast

Hey hey, here I am again for a new episode of the Maison Fauve couture podcast ! In this video, I will tell you how I imagined the Fauve woman of the season.

Empire State Of Fauve, the couture inspirations

In this type of podcast, I like to describe the inspirations, the universe in which I immersed myself to work on the collection. I detail the common thread and I try to organize the ideas, the images that I had in my head. It's like a story in which I immerse myself, which will revolve around an ideal wardrobe and how I make it my own.

For this winter, I wanted clothes that would bring a "statement", a way of being that we affirm through what we wear, our choice of outfit. I imagined an active, urban woman, who goes fast, who thinks big. And the couture inspirations followed the movement.

Putting your ideas into images: the collection shoot

My muse of the season was New York. But how to recreate this vision without crossing the Atlantic?! I managed to find the perfect location in Montpellier: Pierresvives . Very architectural, with impressive dimensions, between concrete, glass and steel, this place allowed me to tell my story. And as always, the shootings are also a team effort (and what a team!). I tell you all about it in the video.

From desire to clothes, let’s talk about patterns!

The last part of the video will be dedicated to the presentation of the 5 patterns of the collection: the Soho wrap dress/blouse , the Chelsea pleated blouse , the iconic Skyline shirt (yes, it's my favorite, I'm showing favoritism ;)), the Brooklyn palazzo pants and the perfect Manhattan blazer .

Using the fabrics I worked on, I detail each model and tell you more about their history, how the clothes were designed as well as all the pretty details that are offered to you. And the different variations of the patterns will allow you to multiply your sewing projects and vary in difficulty and sewing technique.

Although this collection offers some fairly technical models, video tutorials will accompany you for an easy sewing moment. If you are looking for a winter wardrobe to sew and love for a long time, this is where it happens. You can complete your outfit with the pretty Pam coat from the In The Mood For Fauve collection , it gets along very well with all these beautiful people ;)

As you can see, there are a lot of elements covered in this sewing podcast hihihi, so I hope you enjoy discovering the Empire State Of Fauve universe and I'll see you very soon because a new episode dedicated to Maison Fauvefabrics and pretty buttons is in the pipeline!
