Dentelle and Sybil....can't wait for tonight!

Hello! Well, this time I can say with certainty that this will be the last article of the year...and what a year! In no particular order, another exhausting but wonderful edition of the CSF with my great friend Zoé to meet you and also to meet my friends, a participation in the podcast of Louise aka Corneliadixit, great collection launches, a participation in an entrepreneur competition (and a nice victory to see my project selected!). Maison Fauve has passed the 3-year mark, and I can say that my latest baby has grown well. I can only thank you for following me in my entrepreneurial madness for these 3 years. I have had my head down since I made the decision to launch my brand, and I hope that 2018 will be the last year where I have to combine my 2 professions. I am often frustrated because I see so much further, I really have the ambition to offer an even more complete and inspiring couture experience, but it takes time. Not just time over time, but time in the present, in addition to other tasks. So my wish for 2019 is to finally have the time to live my dreams in a big way. And to get through this, nothing better than a new party outfit ;) The Sybil dress is part of the patterns from the new collection, a soft femininity with its deep neckline. And this pretty fabric, a lace from Pretty Mercerie , comes to spice up the model a little. I was apprehensive about sewing the lace, and the pattern of the fabric is very strong so I chose the version without cutting that the pattern offers (and it's also simpler and faster hihihi). I lined it entirely in an emerald cotton silk fabric (the pattern provides for lining the bust, I just cut the "skirt" part also in the lining and assembled everything). The advantage of this lace fabric is that the edges have a pretty pattern, so no hem and a very studied bottom of the dress and sleeves....but I cheated, I cut my sleeves and my skirt part perpendicular to the straight grain in order to be able to use this pattern which is along the edge! And you, is your New Year's Eve outfit also hand-sewn? Did you think about your project well in advance or did you decide on a whim? I wish you a wonderful year ahead, may 2019 be the year of dreams that come true :)
