Lighting the fire in Atlas dress
If I say pleated bib, reminder of pleats at the wrist, supple look and nice drape... You say to me: the Atlas pattern!
This model has been seducing you for several seasons, especially in the blouse version sewn in our white tencel in a liquette style . To revisit this beautiful dress sewing pattern with a Fauvae Botanica twist, I am offering you today a new version of Atlas, incandescent in our new Cherry Red viscose twill .
Tell me about Atlas
Atlas's special feature is its pleat work on the front, which is also repeated on the cuffs. There is no real technical difficulty in making the pleat, but it requires meticulousness to avoid shifting. The easy sewing video tutorial from Atlas accompanies you at each stage of assembly and I show you how to succeed with your pleats. Faced with such a spectacular front, the back of Atlas is more refined. It consists of a pleat under the back yoke, the pleats of the front and the pleat of the back ensure the comfortable ease of the model which will be as beautiful worn as belted (by making the waist of the dress blouse).
The real technical sewing point of the pattern is the assembly of the polo-style button placket, but again, don't panic, everything is described in the video, and if it's your first button placket of this type, I recommend that you practice on scraps of fabric.
Crazy love for this fiery red
Our viscose twill (also called viscose twill, it is exactly the same material) is back this season in two new color variations: Scarab Green and Cherry Red . It is a very bright, frank and intense red. The fabric is supple and very soft, it weighs 200g/m2 and has perfect opacity. You can sew dresses , blouses or even soft pants in this material. It is a fabric that marks well with an iron, you will have no difficulty in correctly defining the characteristic folds of Atlas.
For the front buttoning I chose our new matching Wink Mat Red Cherry boot buttons . The gold detail in the center of the buttons makes them look like little jewels (I love it ;)).
To accessorize with this dress that does not go unnoticed, I chose high black boots in embossed leather from the brand Jonak. I have had this model for years and I do not regret my purchase, they give a crazy look to all my outfits ;) The silhouette has a little retro side that I like with this type of boots, but it would also work very well with very high boots that will be flush with the bottom of the dress, or with cowboy boots (the fashion statement of the season). My boots are no longer available but these have the same shape, without the crocodile-style relief.
I could have belted my dress, but I wanted the photos to give you a true idea of the cut of the dress and the drape of the fabric. I don't wear red often, but I admit that since I've been working on the Fauvae Botanica collection , including flamboyant sewing in my wardrobe gives me great pleasure!
Have a nice day!

Bonjour,
Le tissus rouge flamboyant donne une allure folle à la robe. Bravo, j’adore.
Je craque également pour les petits boutons bijoux.
Bon week-end ❤️ Val
