Cuba Libre, the wildest of summer dresses!

Did you think our summer wardrobe was missing a fluttery style that would let our beautiful prints shine? You didn't know us well... Discover the beautiful Cuba Libre summer dress !

This new dress literally makes our Fauve Romance's temperature rise.

I want to sew a beautiful bohemian dress

The story behind Fauve Romance is about a stylish city girl who goes on a beach trip, the Empire State of Fauve woman who escapes to Miami (I tell you about my inspirations in this episode of the podcast) .

I wanted to expand our collection with a dress that embodies "letting go," freedom, and movement. A beautiful, long, supple, and graceful dress. A design that looks just as good worn with dramatic heels as it does flat with gladiator sandals.

The boss of Maison Fauve

The Cuba Libre pattern embodies this feminine yet uninhibited look. Its line is long and light, the waist supported in the back by an elastic, the bust in the front is exposed by a beautiful V-neckline and its butterfly sleeves accentuate its airy look: Cuba Libre is a dress made for dancing!

I discover the boss

The model is available in 2 versions, for all occasions:

  • Closed back version, easy to live with and wear
  • A large open-back neckline version, stabilized by large ties to tie, for the most incendiary of summer dresses

This way you can enjoy your pattern even if you can't do without a bra.

The depth of the V-neckline was designed to offer a scoop neckline, without having a cutout that would be difficult to wear on a daily basis. Its skirt is constructed with panels, which gives it beautiful movement and avoids the pitfall of excessive volume. The panels also allow for easier placement of pieces on the fabric, and limits fabric consumption compared to a skirt cut in an arc.

The length of the Cuba Libre dress is easy to wear, and the model can be lengthened very easily through the bottom of the skirt pieces.

The butterfly sleeve has a nice length, above the elbow (you can if you wish shorten it at the bottom of the piece to free up the arm a little). The sleeve head is gathered, to play on the volume as well as on the very airy movement of this type of sleeve.

What fabric should I use to sew my long dress?

Cuba Libre is a sewing pattern that can be used in many fabrics: soft twills like our plain viscose twills, poplins like our Solaris print range, a voile, a fine and very soft jacquard like our Lily jacquard or even a beautiful lace with a cotton voile lining: we detail how to line the skirt and the front bust of your dress in the illustrated brochure of your pattern.

I recommend a fabric with a beautiful drape, which will highlight the gathers at the waist and the length of the dress.

A unique printed dress

An elegant striped dress

Cuba Libre dress pattern and Berlingot Maison Fauve polyviscose fabric (the skirt and front bust are lined in ecru cotton voile according to the instructions described in the pattern brochure)

Sublime in a vibrant plain color, irresistible in a printed fabric, mischievous in our beautiful striped viscose, wildly elegant in a light jacquard, the hardest part will be choosing... Unless you try it again and again, for a vibrant summer in Cuba Libre!
