The Sonia dress, a gem from the Ballets Russes!

You know, it's a rendezvous between us at this time of year... A pretty party dress that will turn heads and in which you will feel beautiful. And if this year the party promises to be bittersweet, there is no reason not to treat yourself, wear a sublime outfit, put on our most sparkling jewelry, our fairy shoes and drink a sparkling glass ;)

This surprise model is a declaration of love to the wonderful works of Sonia Delaunay. A Fauvist artist with incredible paintings, passionate about fashion and a creator of textile design, Sonia Delaunay was a costume designer for the Ballets Russes, and her work will give the ballets she collaborates with all the magic of a painting in motion, so modern and dynamic is her bold treatment of colors and patterns.

These are her paintings, her drawings, her studies around the costume that I had in mind when I created the Sonia dress . I wanted a model that would allow me to play on colors, textures, and with a geometric approach to the cutouts.

And I hope this pretty pattern will delight the most daring as well as the discreet, because its multiple inserts will allow you to play on fabrics, contrasts, associations. I sewed several versions of this beautiful dress, from the color block that pops, to the discreet harmony of prints and their matching solids. And as you know, I love lace, I took great pleasure in putting some on the skirt and the top of the sleeves, for a soft transparency, but which is assumed.

This pretty sewing pattern is sized from 34 to 52, and it is available in pocket format (a little gem ;) ) and in A4, A0 and US letter pdf format .

The video tutorial is available here.

I can't wait to see your versions of the Sonia dress, I feel like you're going to have some creative surprises in store for me!!!
